We arrived in Boston after a comfortable and uneventful flight from Amsterdam - got extra leg room on the bulkhead seats too!
Took the train to the hotel - The Harborside Inn, conveniently situated right at the train station. The hotel was small and quite modern, ideal for our purposes. Currently getting a facelift so will be quite different soon.
After a brief freshen up we ventured out to check out the sites of downtown Boston in the early evening. We were just around the corner from Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall and wandered into a couple of bars just on the street beside the Market Hall. The first was a bit rough and ready - the second a bit cold and empty with dollars stuck to every surface of the bar imaginable. We then progressed to a couple of Irish bars and ended the evening in the Black Rose with some wings on the bar.
