Day 2

We were up early due the time difference and headed on out to the harbor front to see about breakfast. A visitor guide directed us to Quincy Market and we grabbed a mexican breakfast! It was relatively quiet so we took some pics and enjoyed the interesting surroundings.

Once fed and watered, we ventured to the harbor area again to suss out the town tours - we took a hop-on-hop-off tour with boat trip to get our bearings. The tour took around 2 hours, after which we continued on to USS Constitution where we explored further. We walked back taking the Freedom Trail and followed it around to Bunker Hill where Maurice climbed the monument - and suffered for it for the rest of the week!

We continued on down the trail over the bridge before grabbing the bus again which took us around to the starting point of the tour. We returned to Quincy Market for a bite to eat - clam chowder for me - something asian for Maurice - before catching the 3.30 boat trip out into Boston Harbor.

We returned to the hotel and Maurice had the usual snooze - I went in search of beer and found a wines and spirits up towards the State House.

That evening we wandered up towards the area which we had passed on the bus tour which had a few 'Irish' bars and the Union Oyster House. Our first pub was more typically Irish - the Green Dragon and we had a chat with the Irish barman. The Union Oyster House is reputably the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the US. We just sat at the bar and had a chat with an exiled Scot and his English wife about football!

We finished the evening at the Black Rose again which had a band on this time and it was rather busier than the Monday. Our evening finished with a hotdog from the 7 Eleven.
