Day 6 - Vermont to Cape Cod
The next day we dropped Maurice at the Harley store just as a ride-out of 'hogs' was about to set off. He was well pleased with that and took a short video clip of it. Meantime,, Cilla and I went to see her daughter Cary at a dressage event nearby - and met her horse.
After collecting Maurice, we went back to Burlington to meet Joel for lunch at Sweetwaters after his morning of golf.
We got back to the house around 2:00 and set off for Cape Cod. The fall colours were lovely - but the rain started again and it was not great weather for pics unfortunately.
The SatNav was once again perfect for our purposes. We took one short break en route and arrived around 7.30 in the evening in the dark at the Chatham Seafarer.
We were checked in by the French owner of the motel and found ourselves in an extremely spacious room with kitchenette. There was a lovely wee pool out the back and a patio area with loungers in the garden.
After a quick stop we ventured our to look for a place to buy some essentials and found 'Stop and Shop'. Once we had purchased all our staples, we ventured out to look for a local hostelry. We found a place called Del-Mar down the road. It was very busy and we found out that the Cape was especially busy at weekends in September due to weddings. The Del-Mar was perfect for our first night - I had some ribs which were delicious and we finished the evening at the Seafarer. I drove back and had my first driving experience of the trip.
