Day 8 - Hyannis and Wood's Hole

We took a walk down the road to the lovely beach - where it was blowing a gale! But the views and walk were lovely. A strange couple had decided to set up a couple of deck chairs on the beach and have  a picnic - they were bonkers.

The weather had much improved and we decided to investigate our ferry options to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

We drove to Harwich as the guy from the bar had suggested the night before that we go to Nantucket from Harwich - but the ferry was closed for the rest of the season. So we progressed to Hyannis and checked out the options from there. We decided to do the ferry the next day as it was blowing a gale.

Meantime we sussed out Hyannis - there was a Harley shop - but it was closed.  We had lunch in a nice Thai restaurant at the top of Main Street.  We then investigated the ferry options at the harbour and found that the Hy-Line day trip seemed the best bet.

After we had walked a while at the harbour, we drove to Wood's Hole to check out the ferry from there - but didn't stop as it was a fair drive.

When we got back to Chatham, we had a quiet couple of hours and then drove back to the Squire for the evening, where we spoke to a nice young man from Philadelphia who was also golfing.

We just had snacks in the room before bed.
